Man accused of driving onto sidewalk, nearly hitting deputies in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police arrested a driver in Nashville after he allegedly drove onto the sidewalk and nearly hit three sheriff’s deputies.

According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville police, 20-year-old Tyler Alcantar is charged with three counts of assault on an officer.

The police report said he was driving north on 2nd Avenue early Wednesday morning when he got into a fight. He allegedly drove onto the sidewalk and narrowly missed three, on-duty Davidson County sheriff’s deputies.

Police said he also nearly hit several vehicles before driving towards them. The deputies were able to detain Alcantar while waiting for police to get there.
