A Nashville man has been facing multiple charges after police said he kicked an officer in the chest.

Friday night, officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department were called to A&J Auto Sales in the 1300 block of Dickerson Pike after an employee said a man, identified as Jerome Mitchell, was acting angry and aggressive.

The victim said Mitchell was not happy with the service that had been provided. The victim added Mitchell had paid part of his bill that day.

He reportedly paid before leaving in his vehicle. He then returned and was allegedly upset, saying the vehicle had not been fixed.

According to video captured by a surveillance camera, Mitchell was in an office speaking with the victim when he reportedly became upset and began to grab the victim’s pocket forcefully, which was believed to be in an attempt to get his money back.

Police said the video showed the two men struggling as the victim tried to keep Mitchell away from the money.

Authorities were called to the scene, and Mitchell told them multiple times he wanted to get his money back.

He was arrested; however, once he was in the patrol car, he began kicking the back driver’s side door, according to the officer.

When the officer attempted to get him under control, Mitchell reportedly kicked the officer in the arm and chest. He also broke the door panel.

Mitchell was charged with assault of an officer, robbery, and vandalism ($1,000 or less).
