NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man was arrested in downtown Nashville Sunday, accused of crashing his Bird Scooter into a Mercedes Benz on purpose.

Officers were called to 2nd Avenue North, near Church Street Sunday. That's where officers found Thomas Vinh Luu, 38, after witnesses had seen him crash his scooter into the Mercedes.

According to his arrest report, Luu was arrested and placed in the back of a patrol car where he admitted to hitting the vehicle because "it's a Nazi car" and people should "buy American."

Luu was arrested for vandalism, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.
