A man has been arrested after building a bomb and throwing it off of a bridge in Davidson County.
An affidavit from Metro Nashville police said officers responded to a bomb threat call on Neelys Bend Road in Madison.
A suspect, identified as Wesley Ruth, allegedly made a device out of a cardboard toilet paper roll and fireworks. He said he had plans to throw the bomb off the bridge to see what it would do.
It was not his intent to blow up the bridge.
Officers searched his car and said bomb-making materials were found in the vehicle.
He was arrested on weapons charges. His photo was not immediately available.
