Officers have arrested the driver believed to be responsible for a hit and run crash that critically injured a blind man crossing the street.
Investigators with the Metro Nashville Police Department said David Bentley was the driver that drove away from the crash after injuring David Lloyd.
The crash happened on Oct. 17 at the intersection of McGavock Pike & Lebanon Pike in Nashville.
Lloyd was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical but stable condition. He continues to be treated for his injuries.
A driver’s side mirror and a headlight lens was found at the scene. They helped investigators determine that the vehicle involved was either a 2001 to 2004 Honda Passport or Isuzu Rodeo.
A tip led officers to a possible last name of the driver, helping them find that Bentley owned a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo and lived three tenths of a mile from the crash scene.
A search warrant was obtained Thursday for Bentley’s McGavock Pike residence. He was home when officers arrived and admitted that he was responsible for hitting Lloyd.
