NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two suspects have been taken into custody after a man was badly beaten and robbed in front of his young daughter earlier this month.
The incident happened at the victims’ Nashville home on August 1.
According to an affidavit, the victim was beaten inside his home with a steel pipe and robbed of his cellphone and $1,000 cash. His young daughter was there and witnessed the attack.
After the suspects left the scene, she called for help.
The victim suffered a fractured skull as a result of the beating and required stitches.
Police said Payton Cork and Jennifer Hopkins were taken into custody Wednesday after the victims were able to identify them in a photo lineup.
The incident seemed to be a random attack, as the victims claimed they did not know Cork or Hopkins.
Both were booked on charges of felony aggravated assault and robbery.
