A man arrested for assaulting his girlfriend has also been facing charges for running from police in a serious crash in June.
According to an affidavit, officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department first clocked Quortess Hammonds going ten miles per hour over the speed limit in his Dodge Magnum about two weeks ago and tried to pull him over.
They found the car on Old Matthews Road where he had smashed through a chain link fence and four bushes before hitting another car, causing thousands in damage.
Inside the vehicle they found marijuana and a digital scale, but Hammonds was gone.
Last Wednesday, documents stated Hammonds was inside a vehicle with his girlfriend at the intersection of 44th Avenue North and Centennial Boulevard.
The two apparently got into an argument about playing music when it allegedly escalated to Hammonds grabbing his girlfriend by the hair, eventually pulling her out of the vehicle and and punching her in the face.
Hammonds took off from that scene, too, but police were able to capture him Friday. He's now facing several charges for both incidents.
