NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man who was arrested after an hours-long standoff situation in Nashville now faces a rape charge. The name of a second suspect was not immediately known.

A Metro Nashville police affidavit says Jose A. Rodriguez-Coceres was arrested Monday after he barricaded himself inside a home on Westchester Drive for seven hours. He’s been charged with aggravated kidnapping and rape.

The incident stemmed from the beginnings of an apparent drug deal on Sunday, police said. The victim claims she, along with Rodriguez-Coceres, a friend and another suspect, got into a car to go buy drugs.

At some point, police say the other suspect – the driver – gave the other person $100 in drug money but that person got out of the car and ran away. The victim said the driver pointed a gun at her and told her she couldn’t leave unless he got the money back.

According to the police report, they went to another location where she claims the suspects had sex with her without her consent.

She said the three of them then went to another location to buy drugs. Police said she told them she had no choice but to go with them. Once they got back to Westchester Drive, she says both men forced her to use drugs.

When the other suspect left for work the next day, the victim messaged her sister who called police. Officers got to the residence and saw the woman running from the home with Rodriguez-Coceres following her.

He saw them and ran back inside, where he barricaded himself in the home. Once he was in custody, police said he corroborated her account of what happened but claimed the sex was consensual.

Police say they don't yet know the name of the second suspect.
