Man Dies After Nashville Shooting; At Least 4 Sought

A man has died after an overnight shooting just south of downtown Nashville. Police said they're searching for at least four suspects. 

Officials with Metro Nashville police responded to the scene in the Napier/Sudekum neighborhood near Lafayette Street around 1:30 a.m. Monday. 

Police said the 26-year-old victim parked his car and walked over to a parking lot on 1st Avenue when he got into an altercation with three to four people. 

 

Officers said he came to the area to buy drugs. He was possibly trying to get away at the time he was shot. 

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died. His name was not released, pending notification of family.
