The man accused of raping and killing a 7-year-old girl in southern Kentucky was formally indicted in the case nearly a month after his arrest.
Timothy Madden was indicted by an Allen County Grand Jury, Friday morning. As a result, a hearing previously scheduled for Monday will no longer take place.
In late November, Madden was arrested in the death of Gabbi Doolin.
Her body was found on the evening of November 14 in a creek near a wooded area behind Allen County-Scottsville High School.
Investigators said the death was ruled as a homicide due to the state in which she was found and other evidence found at the scene.
According to court documents, the 38-year-old Madden has been indicted on one count of kidnapping, first degree rape of a victim less than 12-years of age, first degree sodomy of a victim less than 12-years of age, and murder.
The arrest warrant for Madden said the child was strangled and drowned, the Associated Press detailed.
The police citation in the case said Madden's DNA was collected during the investigation and matched that recovered from the child during the autopsy.
