Man accidentally shoots himself then crashes on the way to get help

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man crashed while driving to get help after accidentally shooting himself in Murfreesboro.

According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, 30-year-old Kyle Sternquist accidentally shot himself at a car shop Wednesday evening.

He was driving to get medical help when he crashed about 7 p.m. on Central Valley Road, the detective said.

When deputies arrived, they found Sternquist with a gunshot wound, prompting detectives to investigate.

Sternquist's injury was not life-threatening.
