NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Lafayette Street Friday night.
Metro police say the 41-year-old man, believed to be homeless, was hit while crossing the street outside a crosswalk near Lafayette Street and Fairfield Avenue around 11:15 p.m.
Witnesses told officers the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and drove off after the collision.
He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died.
