NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say a man was shot overnight during a robbery in Nashville.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. Thursday on Torbett Street, located not far from Charlotte Avenue.
Metro police said the victim reported he was approached in an alley by two armed men who demanded his money and keys. He was shot in the stomach as he was handing one of the suspects his keys.
According to investigators, he was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury.
It’s unclear if the victim knew the suspects. A description of the gunmen was not available.
According to statistics from the north police precinct, aggravated assaults continue to be an issue in the area. They think a majority of the assaults are with known suspects.
