NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Authorities said the suspect who was stopped by a group of strangers after trying to steal a woman's purse and a box of donuts was also wanted for similar crimes the day before.
According to reports, Ezell Graham was stopped on Tuesday by the strangers, but that incident came after he allegedly walked inside an unlocked home the day before, confronted the people inside, and asked for their wallets.
When they said no and screamed for help, Graham took off with an iPad.
The alleged crime spree continued when police said Graham also grabbed a woman's purse and stole her wallet at the CVS on Harding Place.
He also allegedly followed a woman to her car at the Delta Express and got into an altercation while trying to grab her purse.
After that, police said Graham pushed a man who was getting gas at the Elysian Market to the ground after the victim refused to give him his wallet. Instead, Graham allegedly stole his cell phone.
It was on Tuesday at the Tiger Market on West End when Graham was stopped by three strangers after a woman said he tried to steal her purse and a box of donuts.
Graham has also been accused of trying to grab a woman's purse in the women's restroom at the Walmart on Nolensville Pike.
Police said all of the items he stole were found in his car.
He was taken into custody and has been expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
