Nashville Mayor Megan Barry has responded to pleas for help in Puerto Rico.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Barry said she had reached out to San Juan's mayor to offer any help Nashville can give during this disaster.

While she hasn't heard back yet, we're told Metro's Office of Emergency Management has been in contact with state and federal officials to let them know crews are ready to help when needed.

Mayor Barry also included a link to the United for Puerto Rico fund. You can donate to that by visiting the fund online.

Also, NewsChannel 5 has worked with the American Red Cross to create a unique donation page for our viewers and community to help those affected by the recent natural disasters. You can help by visiting our special donation page
