A local housing agency celebrated fathers with several free events just in time for Fathers Day.
Kids played outside while their fathers received haircuts, professional photos and attended job fairs all put on at the Cayce Place.
Today's Father's Day event is one of 18 taking place at Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency properties. One father said it felt good to be appreciated.
"It means a great deal that someone also thinks about the people outside of just their families and knowing that the people run and have this place going, to kind of think of other people," said Tony Binkley.
The event was part of the a federal initiative to strengthen, empower, and improve the quality of life of families in public housing communities.
