(WTVF/CNN) — A Memphis newborn is getting a lot of attention after she was born on 9/11 – weighing 9 pounds and 11 ounces.
Christina Brown's parents say her birth is something to celebrate on September 11, a date that’s linked with sadness and horror for many Americans.
"On that day, 9/11, you know you find triumph, you find a piece of joy from a day that's so drastic and still hurts,” her mother, Cametrione, told CBS affiliate WREG.
WREG says the baby was born at Methodist LeBonheur Germantown. Nurses said they’ve never seen anything like it.
Baby Christina is in the NICU for a minor lung condition, but she is expected to be okay.
