Nashville men put on their finest pair of stilettos for a very special cause at the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.

MTSU hosted the event to raise awareness of sexual assault.

Guys of all ages showed up in high heels and walked a mile around the campus to shed light on sexual violence against women.

Members from the school's Fraternity and Sorority life also showed up to show their solidarity.

“The pain that they have to go through everyday walking in those things is pretty tough. But I think it shows the greater example that we have to look past not necessarily the shoes that it's an everyday struggle with sexual assault and violence against women, and we just have to show that we understand their pain and we're willing to push through with them,” said Kenneth Honeycutt, with Fraternity and Sorority Life.

After the walk, there was free music and food. The event was created in 2001 by Frank Baird to educate about the issue and help provide solutions for women.
