Posted

Christian County Sheriff's deputies arrested four women in connection to a string of shoplifting reports, and seized thousands of dollars in stolen items including more than $700 of meat.

The complaints were from several jurisdictions including Christian County, Henderson County, Hopkins County, and Evansville Indiana.

Lolitta Warfield, 37, Susan A. Frazier, 57, Marsha Vertner, 60, and Yolanda D. Trice, 46, were arrested and charged with shoplifting and receiving stolen property. Warfield was also charged with several other charges.

Sgt James Dragoo received a complaint that four women had allegedly shoplifted some merchandise from the Dollar Store in Crofton, Kentucky.

The Sgt. stopped a vehicle on Clark Street in Hopkinsville that was driving recklessly and matched the description given by the store employees moments before.

During the traffic stop investigation, the Sgt. found large amounts of stolen merchandise from the Dollar Store and arrested the women inside.

Further investigation led to the discovery of other stolen merchandise in excess of $5,000.00 from the other jurisdictions.

Contact was made with those departments, who described the appearance of their suspects, which matched what the suspects were wearing when they were stopped, and further charges are expected.
