Nashville's Cross Point Church kicked off the holiday season with the third annual Merry Music City Christmas, which started on Wednesday.
The event was open to the public and invited people to enjoy inflatable obstacle courses, food, music, and even snow that was placed on sledding hills.
"I grew up here in Nashville and I can remember every Christmas morning wanting there to be snow so bad and there never was." Pastor Pete Wilson of Cross Point Church said. "I think it's a fun way for kids to come out here and have a great time, and honestly, parents to have a really good time too."
Cross Point Church makes the event free for the public as a way to give back.
"it's kind of a way for us to give back to the city and just say thanks for letting us be a part of such a wonderful community." Pastor Wilson explained.
The event started at 6 p.m. Wednesday and extends through Friday, and 3 p.m. on Saturday. People attending were asked to park at Nissan Stadium where they will be bussed to the church for the festivities.
Pastor Wilson said this is an event that can allow families to get together and enjoy Christmas. "This this time of year can get so busy and families can get pulled in so many different directions, this is a great opportunity for families to come together and have a good time."
This year's event is expected to be larger than ever, with thousands of people attending each night.
