Metro Nashville City Council passed a resolution to honor James Shaw Jr., the man who disarmed the Waffle House shooter, during their council meeting.
Shaw stopped the shooter at an Antioch Waffle House shooter from taking numerous other lives, after killing four.
He has been recognized for his heroism by several officials including state lawmakers and is set to appear on the Ellen show.
The pair will also talk about the GoFundMe page Shaw created for the shooting victims and their families, which has raised more than $215,000.
