Country music group Lady Antebellum hosted students of Nashville School of the Arts at its Bridgestone Arena concert.
The Metro Public Schools student ensemble won the opportunity to play on stage with Lady Antebellum after submitting a recording of "You Look Good" back in June.
"This was a competition that they had online. We got the music, we learned it, we videotaped ourselves playing it, and we sent it into them. They accepted it," NSA band teacher Glenn Fugett said.
Lady Antebellum reached out to the school in August to give them the news.
"When he was actually giving us the music, I was like, this is actually real, like we're about to perform at the concert at Bridgestone, like it's nothing. We do small gigs, like we've never done anything like this. So this is like a big step, but it's really exciting," senior Ashley Mimms said.
The students said it was a great experience learning the music even up till the last minute.
"We got new music yesterday and we memorized that too," Mimms said.
There were 21 students participating, including brass and saxophones artists.
"I'm so proud of them and very proud that they were able to learn this so quickly. It's been a great journey since I started here," Fugett said.
The show was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
