NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville has announced details of its Christmas Tree recycling program for the 2018 holiday season.

Last year, the city said 17,000 trees were recycled through the Tree-cycling program.

Metro Parks and Recreation and contractor, Living Earth, are teaming up to help with the program.

The program will run from December 27th to February 16, 2019.

Drop off locations are listed below:

· Cane Ridge Park

· Una Recreation Center

· Whitfield Park

· Cedar Hill Park

· Two Rivers Park

· Joelton Community Center

· Sevier Park, Richland Park

· Elmington Park

· Edwin Warner Park

· Frederick Douglas Park

· Both of Living Earth's locations at 1511 Elm Hill Pike and 6401 Centennial Blvd.

The only requirements are that the trees are stripped of ornaments, lights, and other decor. Artificial trees will also not be accepted.

The trees will be chipped and composted into mulch.
