NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Metro police officer has been decommissioned following his arrest in Hendersonville concerning a domestic assault incident.

Metro police (MNPD) say Officer Matthew Cammarn, 31, was decommissioned as a result of his arrest Saturday night. He was arrested for domestic assault against his wife.

MNPD alerted the Hendersonville police department after Cammarn's wife reported to a Metro officer that Cammarn body checked her and pushed her during a heated argument in their home in Sumner County.

Cammarn's police equipment has been collected.

The Office of Professional Accountability is going to conduct a parallel administrative investigation.

Cammarn had been with the East Precinct of MNPS for seven years.
