NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Those with the police department said they’re accepting applications for their free Teenage Driver Awareness Class.
Officers put on the class for teens between the ages of 14 and 18.
The class has been scheduled for Saturday, August 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It was set to be held in the community room of the police department’s South Precinct in the 5100 block of Harding Place.
Officials said the class would not offer behind the wheel training, but it would focus on impaired driving, distracted driving, and overall traffic safety.
For any parents who may be interested in signing a teen up for the class, police have asked for the following information:
- Teen’s name
- Teen’s date of birth
- Home address
- School attended
- Parent’s telephone number
- Parent’s email address
That information should be emailed to Officer Erika Bowden. Authorities said enrollment in the class was limited.
