Metro Schools Training Appreciates Differences

Posted

Many people may have done something similar to this at work — training or role playing to make people aware of and appreciate the differences we all bring to the table.

Metro Schools hosted a similar training session Thursday for workers in the Central Office.

The project gave them a chance to step outside their own life experiences and see what it might be like in the shoes of another person, maybe similar to what families of Metro School students might face.

It's estimated that 70-percent of Metro School students live in low income households, and some 3,000 Metro School students are actually homeless.

They've been doing the program for about five years and have trained about 6,000 teachers and workers during that time.
