Middle Tennessee school districts cancel class following storms

(WTVF) — Powerful storms with straight line winds blew through Middle Tennessee on Saturday, causing damage to many areas.

Decatur County Schools have canceled class for the entire week due to storm damage. Perry County has also canceled school on Monday.

Houseton County Schools will be closed Monday duo to storm aftermath.

Humphreys County Schools will be closed Monday as well due to power outages.

Clarksville-Montgomery County schools will be closed on Monday.

Tennessee River Valley News said Decaturville citizens have been asked to conserve their water usage until power is fully restored in the area.

Montogomery County was also affected by the storms. Bi-County Solid Waste Management is accepting storm debris at the main landfill at 3212 Dover Road in Woodlawn on Sunday until 5 p.m.

The intense straight line winds caused at least seven semi trucks to overturn on Interstate 40 in Decatur and Henderson Counties.
