Discussion grew heated during the Budget Finance Committee meeting on the proposed MLS stadium.
The Nashville Metro Planning Commission voted this week to recommend re-zoning 10 acres of the fairgrounds for a new mixed-use development as part of the $275 million stadium project.
But organizers of the State Fair say the project is already causing headaches.
The Metro City Council will take up the re-zoning and other legislation about the stadium this month. A possible final vote could happen as early as September 4.
The Tennessee State Fair kicks off on September 7.
