NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police Officer Conner Harris was decommissioned and assigned to desk duty after being arrested for DUI Sunday morning in Wilson County.

Harris works out of the Midtown Hills Precinct and is a six-year veteran.

Police officials say he was stopped by a Wilson County Sheriff’s deputy on I-40 while traveling between 40 mph and 50 mph in a 70 mph zone.

The deputy reported Harris had red watery eyes, slurred speech, and displayed indicators of impairment during the administration of Standard Field Sobriety Tasks. A blood sample from Harris will be tested by the state crime laboratory.

The Office of Professional Accountability has opened an administrative investigation into the circumstances surrounding Harris’ arrest.
