NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A mother has been arrested after her child swallowed cocaine, according to police.
Officials said Stephanie Tharpe took her three-year-old to an area hospital after the toddler started acting strangely back in May.
The child later tested positive for cocaine.
Tharpe admitted that she left the child in the room with the drugs and was taken into custody Friday.
Tharpe was charged with child neglect and being held on $75,000 bond.
No additional details were known.
