A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy was arrested by Tennessee Highway Patrol officers in Nashville on New Year's Eve.
Officials with the department said Illya Novikov has been a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy since 2010.
The deputy was stopped by THP early Thursday morning. He was charged with driving under the influence and violation of the implied consent law.
Novikov was placed on administrative leave pending an internal review of the incident.
THP worked with the Sheriff’s Office to complete the internal review of the incident.
