Motorcycle Crash Kills 2 In Putnam Co.

Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 40 in Putnam County.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said 46-year-old David Hill and 56-year-old Kendra Hill were killed in the crash.

The pair was travelling east on I-40 in the left lane on a 2010 Harley Davidson FLH when David began “improperly following” a2002 Jeep Wrangler driven by 28-year-old Justin Gunter.

Gunter began to slow because of traffic congestion.  The motorcycle swerved to the left to avoid contact with the rear of the Jeep, but still hit the Jeep from behind. 

The jeep then veered off the left side of the road and hit the guardrail of crash happened in the area between mile marker 291 and 292 near Poplar Grove Road.
