NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville police investigated a deadly motorcycle crash late Sunday night on I-65.
The crash happened on I-65 north, between Rosa L. Parks Blvd. and the I-24/I-65 split, police said.
According to investigators, there was a group of four motorcyclists traveling together when one of the riders crashed into the back of a sedan.
Larry Neely Jr., 49, of Cheektowaga, New York was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.
Police say Neely Jr. was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
A second motorcyclist traveling in the group was injured when he skidded to avoid the crash. He broke his leg and is expected to be okay, police said.
The driver of the car Neely Jr. hit told police they had stopped to avoid a collision with the vehicle directly in front of them.
