Officials with the Mt. Juliet Police Department have asked for the public’s help in identifying a armed robbery suspect.
Police said 24-year-old James W. Gray tried to rob a person in the parking lot of Walmart Tuesday afternoon around 2:40.
Officers were called to the Walmart at 300 Pleasant Grove Road where they were told a Gray, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, pulled a gun out and demanded the wallet of an adult man in the parking lot.
The victim did not comply, and Gray got away in a maroon 2008 Mercy Grand Marquis.
The vehicle used by the suspect matches the description of a vehicle that was stolen from the Bar-b-cutie parking lot on February 13, 2016 after the owner left the keys in the car.
Gray is on the run and wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for a federal probation violation, issued on February 9, 2016, stemming from charges related to an armed bank robbery he committed in Florida.
