MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Two college students were arrested after officials say a pellet gun was fired near spectators at a high school soccer game in Rutherford County.

The incident happened at the Riverdale High School soccer field during the girls’ game Thursday. No one was hurt.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Friday that 21-year-olds Mohamad Nasoah Al-Dahan and Khaled Mahfouz were arrested and charged with felony reckless endangerment with a weapon.

Both are students at Middle Tennessee State University.

Sheriff's officials said School Resource Officer James Coots reportedly heard a sound and turned to see the barrel of a gun sticking out the passenger side window of a truck.

The truck sped away, while Coots and other officers pursued the vehicle. During a traffic stop, the pellet gun was found on the floorboard.

Both suspects were held on $25,000 bond at Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Officials said a message was sent to all Riverdale parents in an attempt to address the situation.
