The final mid-state fire crew returned home after assisting in those deadly wildfires in Sevier County.
Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue sent about 50 members to Gatlinburg. The captain said his team spent hours battling structure fires when they arrived last week.
"We went 40 hours straight being up and we got released Tuesday night, I guess around 7p.m. and we got a motel room in Pigeon Forge, that's when we all got to look into what had gone on," said Raymond Smith.
The department said they plan to hold a fundraiser to help raise money for victims in wildfires' aftermath.
