Dozens of young musicians with the Music City Drum Corps have put in long hours of rehearsals to prepare for marching band competitions across the southeast.

About 150 musicians from high schools and colleges throughout the region have spent the last few weeks practicing at Antioch High School to compete in what some have called the Major Leagues of marching bands.

The long hours were spent learning music and routines to compete against dozens of other top bands from across the country, organized by Drum Corps International.

The band members were leaving the last week of June for their summer tour across several states.

Their final practice was scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Antioch High School, and was expected to be open to the public. People can also watch the band perform in a competition at Vanderbilt Stadium in late July.
