Metro's Planning Commission unanimously passed a plan to regulate growth on Music Row.

A design plan was presented Thursday and approved in an effort to help shape the future of the area.

Part of it gives guidelines to develop the area if a developer would like to re-zone properties.

It also addressed concerns about protecting Music Row's history while still making room for future businesses.

Planners have been working on a design for the past two years.

"I'm very satisfied. It's something I've been working on since the beginning," said community planner Stephanie McCullough. "For those two years to see at least one step of that finished or at would least close to being finished is great, and I think it's it's a sub for very constructive active conversation moving forward."

The next step is to look into rezoning and how planners could keep the characteristics outlined in the plan.
