Local Affordable Care Act participants held a news conference asking President-elect Donald Trump not to repeal the healthcare initiative.
They asked that he think about those it would effect most before making such a big decision.
One example was musician Todd Sharp, whose wife lost her job at Vanderbilt University Medical Center during a battle with cancer.
Leaders said almost a million and a half Tennesseans were able to get preventative care under the Affordable care act.
They said they just want the Trump administration to have a plan before making drastic changes to the ACA.
