Name Of Killed TDOT Worker Added To Memorial

Posted

Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation held a memorial for one of their workers killed on the job in April.

A tractor trailer truck hit David Younger and three other TDOT workers while they had stopped on the side of I-40 to change a flat tire.

The three others in the milling and patching crew were injured, but Younger was the only one who didn’t recover from his injuries.

Thursday’s tribute added Younger’s name to the TDOT fallen workers memorial statue.

The statue is located at the I-40 Welcome Center in Smith County. Younger’s daughter spoke about her father before his wife unveiled his name during the ceremony.
