Out of 900 cities in the U.S. with streets named after Martin Luther King Junior, Nashville is not one of them, but the Mayor said she would be in favor of a name change.
The music city does have streets named for local African American leaders like D.B. Todd and other national figures like Rosa Parks.
Yet, when NewsChannel 5 asked Mayor Barry about why there was no MLK street she said it simply hasn’t been proposed.
She said she would support changing a street name to honor Doctor King.
