CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The city of Chattanooga celebrated and honored the lives of the five service members, who were killed in what officials called a domestic terror attack at “Chattanooga Unite.”
The attack happened back in July, and on Wednesday the event honored their memory with a huge benefit, in which benefited the families of those five victims.
The Blue Angels made a flyover at "Chattanooga Unite." There was also a parade, fireworks, and free concert. Chattanooga native, Samuel L Jackson, emceed the tribute.
"My roots are here. The fabric of who I am was formed here and I have a deep feeling of love and joy when I think about Chattanooga. It's important that I come back and help the people heal,” said Jackson.
All donations gathered at the event went to the victims’ families. More than $120,000 were raised by one Music City business, the "Nashville T-Shirt Company."
They made thousands of "Nooga Strong" t-shirts, and presented the families with a check for more than $128,000 at the event.
