NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Cherry Blossom Facebook Festival will take place virtually Saturday, the Japan-America Society of Tennessee announced.

The festival will celebrate spring time, as well as traditional and contemporary Japanese culture.

Family-friendly videos from Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival sponsors, partners, performers, martial arts groups, lecturers, exhibitors and vendors will be posted throughout the day.

Festival emcees Terry Vo and Madeline Adams will share introductions of featured videos.

Some of the videos scheduled include a special welcome and sakura papercraft demonstration by Consul-General of Japan in Nashville Kayoko Fukushima; "Music and Magic," featuring videos from Kaminari Taiko of Houston , Japanese Elvis tribute artist Daisuke Kiryu and the Kent Family Magic Circus; and demonstrations and crafts, including a Japanese writing lesson, a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, making an original crane, playing the game of Go and practicing Aikido, a form of martial arts.

The Facebook festival is meant to replace the postponed annual Cherry Blossom Walk hosted by Sister Cities of Nashville, and the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival, which was originally scheduled for Saturday at Public Square.
