NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — It was a fashionable fight against ovarian cancer at the seventh annual Chic Awareness held Monday night at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville.

The event raises money for ovarian cancer research at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center through the TJ Martell Foundation.

There was a live and silent auction along with a fashion show featuring models who have survived ovarian cancer.

"Upon moving to Nashville in 2012, I realized there wasn't a lot going on for this particular disease," said Chic Awareness founder Marci Hough. "So we set the path with a group of dedicated girlfriends so that we were going to change that. I can happily say now, we've raised almost $300,000 specifically for ovarian cancer research at Vanderbilt."

NewsChannel 5's Rhori Johnston was the emcee for the event.
