NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Nashville Fire Department's annual "fill the boot" campaign kicked off this week. The fundraiser benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Members of the fire department and IAFF Local 140 will be on the streets all over town until September 14 asking drivers to make a donation.

The funds will be used to find treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases.

Last year, NFD and IAFF local 140 ranked No. 1 in the state for their MDA fundraising efforts.
