NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A new study gives a good indication of how long Nashville drivers sit in traffic – enough to be ranked as one of the most congested cities in the U.S.
A new study by INRIX says Nashville is the 20th-most congested city in the country and ranks 114th in the world.
To put that in perspective, Los Angeles was ranked the fifth-most congested city in the U.S.
According to the study, Nashville drivers spent an average of 87 hours in congestion daily in 2018 – costing motorists more than $1,200.
During the worst part of the morning and afternoon rush, the average speed in Nashville is a little more than 21 mph.
