Gay Rugby Association Brings Tournament To Nashville

The International Gay Rugby Association brought its international tournament to the Music City.

The association is made up of almost 50 teams from more than 2 dozen countries.

It was only the 4th time this international tournament has been played in the U.S. and brought thousands of men both gay and straight to town for the international competition.

"Ah, Nashville is fantastic. You guys have just been so friendly and welcoming, and it's been a real southern welcome for the 1500 rugby players we have here in Nashville,” one player said.

The teams arrived in town last Thursday night.

The tournament was set to run through Sunday at the Ted Rhodes Park near Metro Center.
