Woodland Hills Escapee Arrested Again

Metro Nashville Police officers arrested a man who, once again, evaded capture for months.

Kuyvonta Cain was arrested by Special Response Team officers Tuesday afternoon. He was caught hiding in a friend's basement in Madison.

In January, police said Cain and others stormed into a Sylvan Street home where a fight broke out. Cain's gun went off hitting the victim.

Authorities alleged Cain then pointed the gun at the victims face, and pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed. Cain has been on the run since.

The 19-year-old was one of the nearly 30 teens who escaped from the Woodland Hills Youth Development Center back in September.

Then, he was on the run for more than a month.

NewsChannel 5 sat down with Cain's father in October 2014. Then, he claimed his son got mixed up with the wrong crowd when he escaped from Woodland Hills

"He said he made a stupid move, he did something really stupid," Wallace Nabaa claimed. "He doesn't know why he ran. It was maybe peer pressure of the other kids."

Cain's issues continued in September 2015, when he was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault. Months prior, Nashville police arrested him again after his father reported that he pulled a pistol on him during an argument over pot. That charge was dismissed.

Police have also tied Cain to an alleged armed robbery that happened back in February.
