The Nashville Rescue Mission is expected to feed thousands of people who might not get a hot meal otherwise on Easter weekend.

More than 5,000 homeless and hungry people will be served over the weekend. On Good Friday, hundreds of people were served a traditional holiday meal.

Officials with the Rescue Mission said the Easter Banquet is a special time to reflect on the restoring power of Jesus Christ seen everyday at the Mission.

A special service is planned for Easter morning followed by a free lunch.
