City officials, served along side of some of Nashville's news anchors and reporters at the Nashville Rescue Mission to give everyone a Thanksgiving meal.

On Wednesday, hundreds of Nashville's homeless and hungry got to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast at the mission's annual banquet.

Mayor Barry was one of those volunteers and she told us what she's thankful for.

"I am so thankful for all the metro employees who get up everyday and serve Nashville. I'm thankful for our police officers, our firefighters, our teachers, the people who pick up our garbage, our public works, folks who worry about our storm water and everybody else in Metro who goes out of their way everday to make sure that the Nashvillians have what they need and have a great quality of life," said Mayor Barry.

In addition to Mayor Barry several of our own NewsChannel 5 family showed up to help.
